NATIVE SONS “Drama” Started simply as a recording project in 2018 by a group of enthusiastic musicians in Louisville, Kentucky. Lead singer Ashton Blake and his bandmates caught the ear of Maryland-based HighVolMusic’s founder Bill Chavis, who not only helped launch their first album, he also came up with the name “Native Sons,” inspired by his own Native American roots.

Due to circumstances beyond anyone’s control, the band’s recordings were delayed, but Blake was determined to have them hit the airwaves. At the end of 2019 NATIVE SONS’ first album,

The Natives Are Restless, was finally ready to be released, but the world was about to be hit with Covid-19, causing the release to be put on hold once again. The band experienced a personal blow as Bill Chavis and his wife, Lori, succumbed to Covid-19 in September 2021.

Time passed, leaving Blake to carry on the music as the other members left to pursue other projects. The album was finally released in March 2021 to glowing reviews among the press worldwide.

The line-up of NATIVE SONS has since changed into a working and touring band, playing well-known venues as the infamous Whisky A Go Go in Los Angeles and large festivals including Monsters of Rock Cruise’s Monsters on the Mountain two years in a row, Nashville’s RocknPod Expo, and Brad Lee’s Masquerade Madness.

They have also shared the stage with former Dokken guitarist George Lynch, Kickin Valentina, and Resist and Bite. NATIVE SONS has been celebrated among 200 other artists in Spotify’s New Classic Rock in North America Playlist in 2021 and 2022.
