DIRTY MITTS are out of the UK who are bringing a fresh sound to Classic Rock. I’m assuming none of them were old enough to have been around during the golden years of Rock so they’re taking their own influences and blending it with classic bands like Aussie bands AC/DC and Thunder. Right now they fit into the new group of rockers like THE ANSWER and BLACK COUNTRY COMMUNION.
The vocals from Tommy are clean, melodic and powerful. Mo has written some extremely infectious rhythm guitar licks. The drums and bass are super tight and give the band it’s Arena Rock sound. Overall, talented guys who exemplify what a band should be all about.
The production was actual the first thing I noticed. Very thick and massive sound, great separation of instruments while also making them come off as one cohesive unit.
The writing is solid too, some great hooks throughout. “Ride The Storm” was the strongest track in my opinion but each song had strong points. They really have a strong ability to play in the pocket and jam out some great bluesy heavy rock.
DIRTY MITTS are solid, I’ve just heard five songs but they have already proven they have the ability to knock out some great tunes. I’m confident they grow and mature they’ll become a force to be reckoned with.
“Hands Off!” EP track listing: 1) You Better Run! (Villains Theme); 2) My Show; 3) Ball and Chain; 4) Women; 5) Ride the Storm.
